cute card Thursday - In the water

well im on a roll this is my 2nd challenge in as many day its like a bus none for ages and then 2 together, LOL.

This time the challenge was on Cute Card Thursday you can find all the details on there to join in.

Your card has to have water on it somewhere, so I've used this cute Elizabeth Bell image and although the water isn't actually in the image i have used diamond glaze to make little droplets of water coming out of the watering can and on the sunflower,i hope you can see in the close up pic below.

Image is coloured with promarkers available from silly monkey crafts, papers are cosmo cricket and the green is a download from summer driggs, I've used 3 different ribbons so i suppose it could also fit the challenge that i completed yesterday as well, I've added 3 Bella's baubles to the corner to bring out the blue colour.

Feeling more like Autumn

Yesterday i participated in a challenge blog so today i gave a sketch a try, this is something ive never done either but thought i would give it a go.

The sketch is from Sketch Saturday i decided to check it out after viewing bevs blog and saw the gorgeous card she had made.

Because of the silly weather we are having it feels more like autumn today so i decided to make this card in autumn colours

So here is my take on the sketch, I've use a Hanglar & Stanglar image coloured with promarkers, (he was originally coloured in a gold and peach but i didnt have papers that matched and to be honest when i first coloured him i didn't realise it was a him and i coloured him in girly colours, so today i have coloured over the peach with a green, you'd never tell, that's why i love these pens)

The papers are a mix the background is a download from shabby princess and the other is dovecraft, the flowers are prima with a zoom in the centre, the ribbons were from a kit i think it may of been Sarah's cards, the sentiment is from papertrey ink, cut with a cuttle bug and coloured to match the card. the small flourish in the corner is a stamp by autumn leaves, stickles added to his wings for a little sparkle.

The challenge was to use 3 different ribbons and the card above is what i came up with.
Here is a close up of the image
Photobucket
Ive used a Hanglar & Stanglar image coloured with promarkers, the papers again are a free download this time from Summer Driggs, the sentiment is a stamp from papertreyink, 3 different ribbons, liquid pearls and stickles.

I really must take part in more challenges as sometimes it takes you out of your comfort zone to make you try something you wouldnt normally.

4 to share

Ive got 4 cards to share with you today, i was making 3 of these last night and time just slipped away before i knew it was 1 oclock in the morning, so i was a little tired when i woke up today, never mind ive got the day all to myself as all the kids are out for the day so i will be sat creating all day now that the house work is out of the way.
here are the details of the above cards.
1. This is an Elizabeth Bell image available from Funkykits, ive coloured her with promarkers and highlighted it with white gel pen, ive stamped the card with autum leaves flower stamps using hero arts ink, i have then highlighted them with stickles and a gem for the centre, the lace was from the local market again embellished with gems the large brad was stamped with a flower and the gem added.
2. This is a Hanglar & Stanglar stamp, Hanglar and Stanglar will soon be available from FunkyKits, again coloured with promarkers and highlighted withwhite gel pen. The papers are downloads from Shabby Princess. The star stamps are Autumn leaves, the ribbon is Gisela Graham, the sentiment is a hot of the press stamp.
3. This is a very simple card , the stamp is an elizabeth bell image coloured with promarkers, matted onto DCWV card stock and then onto Shabby Princess papers, the clip is by Making Memories and the ribbon by Joy crafts, gems are hot fix crystals.
the following card i made last week using a magnolia image and forgot to share it on here with you

Penny Black

Today's creation has been made using a penny black stamp, i don't own many penny Blacks stamps but have lots of images that a friend stamped out for me i just need to get around to using them more.

The image is coloured with pro markers and all the papers were a freebie downloaded fro Shabby Princess, I've downloaded so many of the papers that i haven't cut into a bought sheet of paper for at least the last 10 cards.

The sentiment is hero arts, the flower is K & Co that Ive added sugar coating to the middle as it was pink and didn't go with the colour scheme, and lots of stickles for bling, the butterfly (sorry cant remember)

We have just finished the last full week of the school holidays and it has flew past so quickly, my eldest son will be going into year 9 on Wednesday, My Daughter will be starting secondary school on Tuesday and my youngest will be going into year 1 on Thursday, i just cant believe how time can pass so quickly it seems only yesterday when my eldest was starting his first day of school, its a good job I've got all my scrapbooks to hold my memories of them forever. It was only this week we got them out and looked through them all again, the little things they say and do i would of forgotten about if i hadn't recorded it in my journaling.

I've coloured them with promarkers, stamped around the edge with autumn leaves stamps, the paper is a free download from shabby princess, felt by queen & Co, cuttlebug embossing folder for the snowflake and added stickles and a gem for decoration.
Here is a close up of the image.

Todays offerings & Forever Friends

Ive got 2 cards to share with you today, both coloured with promarkers

The first is another precious moments, I've not added a sentiment yet as im waiting for the right occasion to come along, i love the flower they are by prima and I've added bling to the middle and a decorative pin behind it.

The second card I've used a freebie image from Kerry jo, I love the red and blue combo it is so boyish, the football stamp is from clevercut made by stamps away.

So why have i mentioned Forever Friends? I had heard a while back that forever friends were being released as stamps and papers and i saw a post today by Caz that they are due in the shops in around 2 weeks she also has a peek on her blog and she mentioned the Christmas stamps will be available at the same time.

baby card and a gift

I was asked to make a baby boy card and found the perfect precious moment image, i really am loving the cute precious moments and of course they are perfect to colour with the pro markers.

I have used a paper downloaded from shabby princess, magic mesh for texture, cuttlebug embossing, the star is from making memories, and added bling gems.

I've also had a go today at making a decorated candle and it was so easy, i used a house mouse image and it really is like magic the way the tissue paper just merges in with the wax, i will find the tutorial and add it here but until i find it i will give those of you who dont know how to do it a quick run down.

1. get a piece of white tissue paper and stamp your image onto it, colour it using watercolours or whatever you would normally use, dont over wet the tissue as it may rip.

2. Trim the image

3. place the image on the candle in the desired place,

4. Wrap tightly some greaseproof paper around the candle and to hold the image in place, grasp on to the grease proof paper to hold the candle and image in place.

5. Using a heat gun heat the image moving the heat gun so it doesnt concentrate on one place (you dont want to melt the candle) this will only take a moment remove the greaseproof paper and your image will be adhered to the candle and the tissue will not be visable.

here is the finished candle, im sorry its not too clear but i had gift wrapped it before i remembered to take a picture.

more Precious Moments

ive used another Precious Moments image for this card, again it is for my sister, well actually its what my children will give her along with a pressent, as they love their Aunty Bev.

The paper is cloud nine, the background has been embossed using swiss cots folder in the cuttlebug, the greeting is Hot of the press and the flowers are prima. little jewels for added bling, it was coloured with pro markers and cut out then attached with 3D foam.

cute card and more markers

Yesterday afternoon i ordered some more pro markers from silly monkey crafts and they were delivered 2 hours later, i know I've said it before but you must check them out and until Tuesday there is 10% off everything and free P&P on orders over 15.00.

Photobucket

So i got cracking with them straight away and coloured the Precious Moments image in, which i had downloaded from the computer, i really wish they were more readily available as stamps, but they are hard to get hold of. The card is for my sisters birthday tomorrow and i know she will love it as she likes all things cute.

Loving my pro markers

Ive been playing all day with my pro markers and im loving them, i only hope they are not going to run out.LOL!

I recieved lots of goodies in the post today, i bought loads of gems of ebay so you will see lots of bling on my cards. i also got some stamped images off a friend so have been colouring them, i think ive nealy mastered the art of colouring the hair (well i like the result any way) just need to master the rest now.

All the cards featured today were done using pro markers and the papers were all free downloads from Shabby Princess, so if your worrying about the credit crunch and are spending less on stash or you need some new paper to inspire you without splashing the cash give the downloads a go.
The images below are the cards in more detail showing the bling and hair colouring.

Pro Markers, more digi and an award.

All weekend I've been wondering if i should buy the letraset pro markers, twice I've put them into my virtual shopping basket and then changed my mind, well this morning i made up my mind and ordered some (mind you because i took so long making up my mind one of the sets i wanted had sold out) i got the sketching set the hobby and craft set and the skin tones set, i bought them from Silly Monkey crafts which is not far from where i live. I ordered at around 10.30 am went to work and on my return was an email asking if i would like them to hand deliver them later the same day now how is that for service?

I've been colouring all evening with them and they are fantastic, don't ever think normal felt tips will even come close to them, below is a magnolia Tilda card, the first image i coloured and i like the results and more practice shading etc they will look way better.

the papers are part of a shabby princess digital kit

Photobucket

The cards at the top of this post are all made using the kits from shabby princess, i haven't added any greeting to them as i was asked for a basket of cards with no greetings so that they could be used for any occasion.

Now onto my award the lovely Tracey passed on an award to me on Sunday and she said some lovely things about me (Thanks Tracey you know how to make my day)

I am supossed to pass this on to 7 more people but i dont want to only pick 7 so if your reading this youve got the award, feel free to pass it on.

Ive discovered digital kits

Oh Wow what have i been missing, after reading kerry's blog today i loved the card she made and noticed it was made using a digital kit from Shabby Princess so i hopped over to see what it was all about don't get me wrong i have known about digital kits for ages but have always dismissed them as "not for me" The last time i printed my own papers was around 5 years ago and the quality was awful, so move on 5 years and better quality printers etc. I am amazed the quality is great they print exactly as you see them on screen. The kits over on this site are amazing and whats better is there are a lot of lovely free ones so I'm trying these out ,but i know i will also be buying some as they are gorgeous. I am a total digi novice and i am not even going to attempt digi yet, all i did was printed out the papers and elements i wanted then stuck them down on a card and added my own stamps or embellies in other words Hybrid card making. Ive made 2 already and i know they wont be my last.

So the 2 cards above are digi and the next 2 cards are what i made last night.

Doh! its not Permanent ink

I had drawn an image a couple of days ago and i normally always use permanent ink, so why wouldn't i on this image?
I went to colour it last night with my watercolour pencils and disaster struck all the outline started to run so now I'm left with a half finished smudgy mess, so a warning to everyone who designs their own images make sure you pick up the right pen. the sad thing is i didn't even copy it before i coloured it, this was the original.
never mind onto other things.
I was supposed to be visiting Durham yesterday with Martin but we didn't get there, he was called into work so we have to arrange it for another week which also means i did get to go to The Scrapbook Shop much to my disappointment, that was to be the highlight of the day out for me. Ive now got to save my pennies or go and spend it online, i really wanted to see every thing in real life.
I will be back later with a couple of cards i made last night.

Copics?

Ive made a card today using one of my magnolia stamps, and as the new buzz in the stamping world seems to be using copics so i thought i would give it a go, but wait a moment i have a problem i dont own any copics, yet!

so i got out my trusty colouring felt tip pens, (you know the kind you buy for the kids these are actually rose art)

This was the end result, i know its not as good as using copics, but i was wondering is it the pens or is it i need to master the copic colouring technique, i suppose i am going to have to buy a few copics to see the real results for myself.
Photobucket

Supplies: Magnolia stamp, DCWV card stock, Making Memories patterned paper and brads, Gisela Graham ribbon. liquid pearls and zooms.

Im off to Durham on Saturday for a day out with martin and the kids so im making a visit to The Scrapbook Shop, I have my instructions on how to get there ive had a few reviews telling me how great this shop is, i will tell you how great it is on my return, i think i will have to make a shopping list (but will i stick to it?)

Blog Candy

Just to let those of you waiting know that all the blog candy has now been sent so watch out for it landing on your doorstep.
Thanks everyone

Plain & Simple

The cards I've made reflect how I'm feeling today they are very plain & simple but likable all the same, they were made for one of the baskets of cards that a friend kindly keeps in her workplace. Although they may not be to my taste i have to cater for many people, some like the cluttered over the top fill every inch of space kind of card whilst some like the more simple look.

That's how I'm feeling today I've cleaned up, had my shower but as its raining i cant be bothered to do any thing other than craft, so I'm having a pyjama day, no doing my hair or putting on makeup. if i have a productive day i will post more cards later tonight.

I've managed another card today, although i wish i could of made more, but my headache just wont shift.

The stamp is Penny Black coloured with watercolour pencils, flowers have been coloured with hero arts ink pads lace from the local market, sentiment is hand written.
